EltaMD INTRODUCES CHEMICAL-FREE, BROAD-SPECTRUM SUNSCREEN
DALLAS – May 11, 2007 – EltaMD, manufactured by Swiss-American Products, Inc. (Swiss-American), a Dallas-based manufacturer of specialty skin and wound care products, has introduced a new sunscreen to its family of sunscreen products: EltaMD UV Physical. UV Physical is a chemical-free sunscreen that offers broad-spectrum protection and a water resistant SPF 41, formulated especially for sensitive skin.
The unique formula uses microfine zinc-oxide and titanium dioxide, blended together to make a sunscreen that glides on easily and absorbs quickly without leaving a white residue on skin’s surface. It is safe for all skin types, especially skin that normally reacts to active chemical sunscreen ingredients. It also works well for people who take medication that increases their sensitivity to the sun or who have undergone medical procedures that have increased their risk of sun damage.
EltaMD UV Physical will be marketed to physicians, particularly plastic surgeons and dermatologists, who dispense products to their patients.
“Some sunscreen ingredients, particularly Avobenzone (Parsol 1789) and Oxybenzone, can cause reactions in patients with extremely sensitive skin,” said Bill Kling, CEO and Founder of Swiss-American. “EltaMD UV Physical is a chemical-free physical block that both reflects and absorbs UV rays, protecting even the most sensitive skin from sun damage.”
EltaMD is founded on the belief that the responsible and innovative application of medical expertise and science will change the way physician-dispensed skin care products treat people. The EltaMD sun care line includes a complete spectrum of sun care products, one for every skin type and unique need. EltaMD skin care products focus on providing safe, effective skin care that includes deep, gentle cleansing and intense moisturization for all skin types, including the most sensitive skin.
